Help Keep Laguna Beach Informed

So Laguna represents all of Laguna Beach.

We provide independent, nonpartisan local information that helps residents understand what is happening in their city—from public meetings and elections to neighborhood projects, community events and public-safety issues.

Our reporting, civic tools and public resources remain available to everyone. Membership support helps us keep them accurate, accessible and independent.

Choose Your Level of Support

Choose the level that works for you. Every paid level supports the same public mission; contributing more does not provide greater influence or access to So Laguna’s reporting.

What Membership Dues Support

Memberships help So Laguna research, organize and publish information that can otherwise be difficult or time-consuming for residents to find.

Your support helps fund:

  • Independent local reporting: Researching public decisions, neighborhood issues and community developments using attributable and primary sources.
  • Civic tools: Maintaining election guides, meeting trackers, public-record resources, government directories and neighborhood project dashboards.
  • Technical operations: Website hosting, security, data services, accessibility and the technology required to keep our resources available.
  • Professional review: Obtaining technical, legal or subject-matter expertise when a community issue requires it.
  • Community engagement: Public meetings, informational materials and other opportunities that help residents participate in local government.

So Laguna uses Zeffy for membership payments, which means the organization does not pay platform or transaction fees. Zeffy may give you the option to make a separate voluntary contribution to support its service.

One-time and recurring contributions help fund special projects, public-record research, technical improvements and community outreach.

Our Independence Pledge

Memberships and contributions support So Laguna’s overall mission. They do not purchase:

  • Favorable reporting or editorial treatment
  • Influence over election or candidate coverage
  • Preferential placement in event listings
  • Control over organizational decisions
  • Endorsements of a person, business or position

Membership and Tax Information
