Gardening season has arrived in Laguna Beach! To help our local landscapes thrive, the City is offering two distinct ways for residents to get free, high-quality bagged compost.
Whether you need a few bags today or want to wait for the organized drive-thru event in April, here is everything you need to know.
1. AVAILABLE NOW: Self-Serve Bagged Compost
This is a “grab and go” option available immediately until supplies run out. It is perfect for residents who want to beat the crowds.
- When: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
- Where: City Parking Lot 16, 1900 Laguna Canyon Rd.
- Requirements: Laguna Beach Residents Only. You must bring your own vehicle and be prepared to load the bags yourself, as no staff assistance is available for this self-serve option.
- Pro-Tips:
- Park directly next to the compost station to keep traffic moving.
- Please dispose of any plastic wrap in the provided landfill cart.
- Check your vehicle’s weight limit—don’t overload your car!
2. UPCOMING: Drive-Thru Giveaway (April 18, 2026)
If you prefer a more structured event where you don’t have to load the car yourself, mark your calendar for the official April event.
